Artist Bio

Growing up in Arizona, I have always had a deep appreciation for plants and the Earth, and for our reliance on water and one another. While my work spans many forms, functions, and even genres, I always nod to those vital connections, either visually or through the materials themselves.

Because of this fascination, I decided that I needed to earn my first degree in Horticulture. It seemed the perfect intersection of art, science, and technology: something I could springboard from in any direction, whether in my professional life or at home. The knowledge gained there has also bolstered my art, as it helps me to be aware of what I am using, how I am using it, and how it visually fits into or takes over a space. In working on my BFA at the University of North Texas, I have honed those skills and avidly sought to create beautiful work that represents my love of the Earth and all it provides for us.

As an artist and horticulturist (read: ‘plant nerd’), I'm also the wife of my very patient hubby and the mother of two fabulous humans. I also have the great pleasure of being the emotional-support-human to two of the neediest dogs to walk this planet. Every day is a new adventure; bring it on.
